Not for profit

Working with philanthropists, corporate CSR teams, charities and social enterprises is at the core of what we do. We are among the leading team in the UK working in the not for profit space and understand how to work on CSR in a way that maximises social impact.

In 2014, we launched the world’s first comprehensive charity rating engine for charities, called Charity Clarity. We launched it with two objectives: Empowering Donors and Supporting Charities. With over 300 charities rated over 18 metrics encompassing Financial Health, Accountability and Transparency and Accessibility by mid-2015, we have been able to help many charities continually improve, and hundreds of donors make more informed donation decisions.

Previously, we’ve launched a seminal report into incubating social enterprises in business schools in Pakistan.

Our activities include:

  • Benchmarking against peers
  • Social impact measurement analysis
  • Review of corporate CSR programmes
  • Strategy consulting for charities
  • Identifying suitable donor organisations for individuals
  • Advanced promotion and PR support

Projects

  • Business Backs Education

Business Backs Education is a global advocacy campaign that seeks to rally the private sector to support education in the same quantum as healthcare issues are championed in our companies.

We produced a seminal report, based on findings from 1,914 companies globally, to produce the world’s first truly global estimate of how much corporates spend on education-related CSR.

  • Charity Clarity

Forbes magazine called it the “first independent rating tool and technology platform for charities”. Empower Donors. Support Charities. Those are the two aims of Charity Clarity.

Charity Clarity is a technology due diligence platform for charities, based on a special rating system which assesses a charity across 18 metrics for Financial Health; Accountability and Transparency; and Accessibility.

  • Social impact analysis

We’ve led several social impact analyses, including for coworking space Impact Hub King’s Cross, volunteering charity Sewa Day, published academic work on measuring impact, and delivered training on the subject.

Our experts are often invited to conferences to present on social impact measurement.

  • Benchmarking Global CSR Projects

We worked for a global education business to benchmark the efficacy of its internal CSR projects and donations to projects as locations as diverse as Syria, Uganda, India, and the UK.

We developed a standardised global “quality-adjusted” measure of impact created.
