Agenda

Transformative times for India's higher education

In the latest edition of EPG’s Education Innovation Conference series, we bring together educators from across India to talk about the future of education, in the heart of the University of Oxford, the world’s leading university. The event is held in conjunction with our partner WBR.

Topics include:

  • What will the National Education Policy bring?
  • What does India need to do to improve in global rankings?
  • Making sense of UK government rhetoric on migration
  • Case studies of successful UK-India collaboration

The evening will see an Awards function celebrating the best and most innovative of India’s private universities. We have over 40 confirmed education institutions participating from India, including Ashoka University, MS University of Baroda, Bharat University, Reva University, Alliance University, Scottish High International School, NPS International School, ISL Engineering College, Ucchtar Madhyamik Shiksha Mandal, SDM College of Engineering & Technology, Dnyanmata High School Amravati, IIAAM Foundation, Bharath Institute of Higher Education and Research, Leacon International, Kaushalya Graphology Institute and Aimoverseas.

Why Attend

If you believe in New India and are excited about the economic opportunity it offers, this is a must-attend event for you.

The inaugural Ideas for India conference in May 2022 was held to celebrate India’s 75th anniversary of Independence, with speakers providing their vision for where they see India in the coming 25 years.

Day 1 featured an education delegation to Birmingham, hosted by Birmingham City University. Day 2 featured a Policy Forum on closer UK-India relations, the Commonwealth Education Conference and an Awards evening in Parliament. Day 3 featured the main plenary sessions, including discussions on India’s leadership in addressing climate change, tackling misinformation, unemployment, skill development, women’s participation in the workforce and building India’s institutions.

This year’s Agenda is even more ambitious, taking place from Sunday 7 May – Friday 12 May 2023.

Education Leaders’ Awards, in conjunction with WBR

The latest edition of the QS World University Rankings show the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore as the top university in India, followed by IITs in Mumbai and Delhi in second and third places. In total, 41 Indian universities feature in the list, a record number. IISc also tops The Times Higher Education rankings.

India’s higher education has gone through a transformation in terms of of private universities mushrooming. At the same time as the increase in quantity, consistent quality, student experience and placement outcomes have been a challenge.

For UK institutions, India is one of the most important markets once again, as the government takes a more pragmatic approach to post-study work opportunities.

These Awards seek to celebrate the best of India, and establish partnerships with the best of the UK. They will be the perfect end to the conference in the afternoon.
